Vis De CopilAngus Supports this great children's charity based in RomaniaMrs Cloke came back to visit us again this year to tell the new class all about Vis de Copil. The children were all very interested in the good work her family are doing in Romania. We have already been on her blog so it was nice for the class to meet her in person. We hope to have a direct link through the web cam sometime soon. Mrs Cloke also told us that the houses were very small and had lots of people living in them. We were trying to see how a family of ten would feel trying to sleep in such a small space, it was very difficult. ![]() Mrs Cloke also came in last year, 2009.This is Mrs Cloke from the charity I told you about. She came in recently to tell us about the great work she does helping the poor in Romania.
She taught us some Romanian which is based on latin and we were very interested to hear that Romania gets its name from the Romans. Mrs Cloke has travelled a lot doing charity work and one of the countries she visited was Pakistan. Hussein was thrilled when she talked to him in Urdu. Although the charities web site is not complete you can learn more about it on her blog ![]() The children were very interested and decided to help her. They arranged to collect pencils, rubbers and other stationary to send to her because she told us that many children do not have these basic items. Our children are so lucky to have plenty and so they wanted to donate what they didn't need to help others who are not as lucky as themselves. This is what they collected. Jonathan is sitting on the table, it was his idea to help the children, Scott to the right suggested how we should do it and Conor to the left is friends with Kathy Cloke who runs the charity in Romania.
