Stonehenge

I visited Stonehenge in 2007. It was built 4,000 years ago by an ancient tribe in Wiltshire. People nowadays don't really understand why it was built or what purpose it had. However The stones were carried to the site from far away without any modern equipment. It must have been very difficult to do. It is a very interesting site.

About 20 miles away is the even older site of Avebury. This was built two thousand years before Stonehenge. I like Avebury bcause you can walk around and touch the stones. You can only see Stonehenge from behind a fence. Boo!
