Houses and Homes 2009We have been learning a bit about houses and homes over the last few week. We explored texture and made these great houses. ![]() We have been designing houses to a clients specification using www.architectstudio3d.org. This is a great, free software which you can get from our links menu. We learned about the people who build houses and the order of building. We researched houses and homes around the world and learned that environment, weather, geography and available resources influence the way houses are built. We developed our ICT skills by using our Comic Life software to show what we had been learning. We talked about our ideal home and where it would be situated and then we drew our designs inside and out. Some of them are fantastic. The comics strips below are about Living in a shoe and about living in an igloo.
We enjoyed doing a school survey to find the most common type of house and then we made bar graphs, line graphs and pie charts to show our findings. It has been great fun. |
