20th February 2011 We received another email from Angus today:

Hi all,
Well what can I say about Bangkok . It is mental, so busy. There isn't much you can not do or get here!!!!

Had fun on the way though as our bus broke down on the way to the Thai border. All the boys had to get off and push it through this town to get to a garage. Gave the locals something to laugh at !!!!! Got it going again with a jump start....... Thank god !!!

Went out on the town last night to celebrate birthdays and because a few people are leaving the tour here. Great fun but all a little jaded this morning.

Talking of food; it is great, though you have to be a little careful what you choose . Great flavours though . Have stopped a couple of times on the long road trips and been offered deep fried frogs, tarantula, locusts and crickets mmmmmmmm nice ...... Not!! Now, as you know, I like my food and will try most things but I didn't fancy any of that .

We have one more day here then get an overnight train to Laos . Not looking forward to that.

The weather here is about 35 degrees most days and sunny. Very humid so quite sticky and uncomfortable at times .

Anyway off for now, will mail again soon.

9th February 2011 We received an email from Angus today:

Hello all ,
Well what can I say , Vietnam is amazing . The places and people are wonderful .

Hanoi was a busy city just like London . It was "tet" when we were there which is lunar new year so we saw some great fireworks . Also from Hanoi we went to Ha Long Bay which was breath taking . Will try to send photo soon .

From Hanoi we took an overnight train to Hue . The overnight train was quite an experience, 6 to a small cabin which was quite dirty , but means to an end. Hue was good and we visited the imperial city .

Next was Hoi An which was a very small fishing village with lots of history . Great temples and old houses etc . Found a spa that I had a great massage in for 8 dollars !!!!

From Hoi an we took an overnight sleeper bus to Nah Trang. Again another experience which I thought was better than the train . Individual sleeper bunks on a coach , some smaller than others but fortunately I got a long one . Spent the day on a boat in Nah Trang having a great laugh and drinking lots of Irn Bru !!!

Went to the mud baths today which was good fun . My skin feels so much better (very in touch with my feminine side lol) !!

The group is great and we have all bonded really well . At present we are 12 in total with a few different nationalities . Maybe other places to stay in the world !!! Lol

Will email again soon
Love

17th September 2010 We visited the school library for the first time this week and we have been learning how to use the Dewey system to find and replace books. Its very important to keep the library neat and tidy and to put our books back in the correct place. We also had a chance to select a book to take home. Some of us were using the computer to log out the books.
