Projects - Canals - 2011We have been researching canal bridges using wow4water and have found four different types of bridges: Snake, Lift, Arched and Swing. ![]() ![]() We have been learning about insects which could be found in the water and we used the information to make lovely pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We had a lovely morning at the Falkirk Wheel on £rd October. We went on the Wheel first and learned a lot more about it. The guide didn’t know how many visitors had been on the wheel since it opened , so Aidan calculated it for him! ![]() ![]() ![]() We had an interesting workshop with Lena who explained how canals were built. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We also got to open and close a swing bridge with Craig. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some of the personal projects the children brought in. We had a mixture of models, written work and powerpoints. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bats use echolocation to find food. We were pretending to be bats using echolocation to locate moths in our circle. It’s not very easy! We learned a song about echolocation and made up some great dances to go with it. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
