Ball Boy at Falkirk Stadium

On Thursday 28th May 2009 the children of P7/6 were asked to be ball boys/girls at a charity football match in aid of the Oncology department at Falkirk Royal Infirmary. Angus thought it would be a good idea for him to go along too as he has never been to a football match. He has been to Hampden recently but that was for a conference and he didn't see a game.

The game was between Bairnfica and A Dunfermline supporters team. (The nickname of Falkirk football club is "The Bairns" so Bairnfica was a very good name). The game finished 2-1 to Dunfermline! but all the kids had a great time and the Infirmary will benefit. All the kids were presented with a Falkirk yearbook as a thank you and Angus got one too!

Angus and the kids worked really hard during the game and handed out drinks to the players at half time

Angus so wanted to get on for the second half. He fancies himself as a winger in the Jimmy Johnstone / Christiano Ronaldo mould. He sat on the substitute's bench for ages but the manager wouldn't let him play. Probably just as well. Did you see the size of some of those defenders? They were HUGE !

Just a couple of days later, The first team of Falkirk FC went to Hampden for the Scottish Cup Final. They played really well but unfortunately they were narrowly beaten, 1 - 0 , by Glasgow Rangers. No matter, because they have done so well this year, they will get to play in the Europa League nest year against good teams from all over Europe. Good Luck to them.
